My three-year-old son is a huge Julia Donaldson fan, and this book is another favorite! The rhymes are fun, the story is engaging, and the illustrations are bright and playful. He loves pointing out the little ladybird on each page

A must read for little ones
Be prepared to read this book again. again and again (and again)It is a huge hit with my Grandson. He is 3 years old and this story really appeals to him, the animal sounds, and the naughtiness of the two characters trying to steal the fine prize cow.It is a delightful story for little ones who are ready to move on to proper stories and easy plots. Also, a lesson that you don’t have to be big in this world to make an effect. Where would they have been without that little ladybird?

Two year old loves these books
We got a spin off board book as a gift which didn’t make sense as a standalone story so we bought the paperback version and it was an instant hit. We now have four ladybird heard books and they are regularly chosen at bed time. Our son finishes the sentences and can recite parts of it so it’s also really helped develop his speech. We’ve gifted this book at birthdays as well and know older siblings (4/5) have also enjoyed it.

Yet another lovely story by the very talented Julia Donaldson!
I am a primary school teacher and the Julia Donaldson books are always a big hit with the children. This story was no different. The children were glued to it and enjoyed looking for the ladybird on every page. It was also very funny and the children loved listening to the different animal sounds. This is a book I will be reading to children for many years to come! 🙂

This is such a fun book, we read it for Storytime where we work. I like that it’s a rhyming story, and it’s interactive in that kids get to repeatedly help make the farm animal noises along with you. An insect is the hero and saves the day. It’s really fun!

We first picked up this book at the local library. It immediately became the only book that our grand-daughter wanted to read that week. She loved the rhyming and filled in the ending of the sentences after the first time we read it together. She is four. Her little brother, two, also loved the story. I tried to find a local bookstore that had it in stock, and could not find it, so I ordered it through Amazon for Christmas. She was thrilled when she opened it and had to read it immediately. The text is wonderful, and the illustrations of the various animals are terrific as well.

My son loves this. He was 19/20 months old when we first read it and he loved it. We borrowed it from the library and then ended up buying it here. If he doesn’t feel like us reading the story he plays hunt the ladybird on each page. Room on the Broom is also awesome. She’s a brilliant author. We have her 10 book collection ordered.
