It’s the most wonderful time of the year… to fall in love
Coming home for Christmas
Returning to her home town of Wishing Tree is definitely temporary for Camryn. She can’t wait to leave and get back to her ‘real life’. Until she meets Jake. Suddenly Camryn starts to see the town, and it’s Christmas traditions, differently. She thought she’d put her future on hold…but maybe her real life was here all along, waiting for her to come home.
New in town, River is charmed by Wishing Tree’s Christmas traditions and warm-hearted people, especially Dylan Tucker whose snow melting kisses bring her to the brink of love. But Dylan has a secret and River can’t risk falling for him until she uncovers it, even if that means losing him forever.
Both women find themselves faced with difficult decisions. But if they are prepared to risk their hearts, they might find they are about to have a Christmas to remember…

The only reason I’ve marked it down to a 4 was because there were a couple of plot flaws towards the end. Specifically it was noted someone was missing at the Christmas concert, but then the next day in a conversation that same person said they were there. Just enough of a flaw to make you go “huh?!”I was hoping to have this read and reviewed by December so I could recommend you all a brilliant Christmassy read, but life got in the way. So, here we are in January and I have your very first Christmas book recommendation for 11 months down the line! Its a really sweet Christmas romance book that follows two pairs of singles, and will make you feel all the feels! It was funny, emotional and brilliant in every way possible. Highly recommend for a lighthearted Christmas romance!

When you know the right person
What a wonderful Christmas love story this turned out to be. Camryn and Jake were just made for each other but it took a while before they realised their feelings for each other. River and Dylan were thrown together as the Snow Queen and Snow King. Little by little they managed to overcome their trust issues and declare their feelings for each other.

I do love Wishing Tree! I’ve read all the books in this series so far and none have disappointed
I do love Wishing Tree! I’ve read all the books in this series so far and none have disappointed. They’re all set around a town that celebrates Christmas all year round. This story has two main storylines. One is about Cam, who grew up in Wishing Tree, but moved to Chicago to follow her career. She moved back to Wishing Tree to look after her 15-year old twin sisters when their mother died. They own the Wrap Around the Clock gift wrapping store (I would love to work there!) and have a happy life in Wishing Tree, albeit still getting over missing their mother. The other storyline is about River, who is quite new in town. She’s a computer whizz who investigates people online, legally now, although not always so! She had health problems when younger and missed a lot of school so is quite naive in a lot of things, and takes most things at face value, not ‘getting’ any nuances. The two love interests are Jake (for Cam) and Dylan (for River). Jake and Dylan have been best friends since they were young. Dylan didn’t have a very good upbringing so he’s more like Jake’s brother than a friend, and Helen, Jake’s mother, is more like his mother, as she took him in as a teenager when his mother left town. Jake and Helen are very wealthy and Jake runs their hotel in Wishing Tree, but isn’t providing his mother with any grandchildren, so she starts up operation find Jake a bride, which Cam unwittingly gets involved in! Dylan is also looking to settle down which Helen ‘helps’ with, pulling a few strings so Dylan and River end up the Snow King & Snow Queen for the town over the holiday celebrations, turning on Christmas lights etc.Cam did irritate me slightly with her ‘3 year plan’ to move back to Chicago so she can’t get involved with anyone in Wishing Tree. She was very blinkered and didn’t appreciate the life she had, but she got there in the end. You always know how these stories are going to end up, but it’s just such a lovely journey getting there! If Wishing Tree were a real place I think we’d all be moving there! Lovely book. I can’t wait for the next installment.

A heart warming read
If you are after a heart warming festive read then this is the book for you. Camryn is moving back to The Wishing Tree where she used to live. What’s changed since she has been away? She has now become the guardian of her teenage twin sisters. It is such a small town but the people that live there add the charm and friendliness that makes you want to go and visit. I have never read any books by Susan and I can see how much warmth and love she brings to her books. The characters really come alive through out the pages and I wanted to leap in and be part of it all. A good happily ever after read.

Perfect Christmas novel: setting and romances are completely engaging
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.I expected this book to be a straightforward romance with schmaltzy references to Christmas but I was very wrong. The setting of Wishing Tree is so Christmassy with the place names and devotion to scents, decorations and even the emotions of Christmas. The romances are completely realistic, with downs as well as ups making for a very good, engaging read. The characters are interesting and completely believable, even over-the-top Helen! Well worth reading, this stands out as a very good Christmas tale.

Fifteen years old speaking like children. A mum bossing life of strangers and family and none says a word. Afailure book

After Camryn’s mother passed away, she uprooted her life in Chicago to raise her younger teenage sisters in their hometown of Wishing Tree. She is now also running the family business. When she meets the resort owner Jake whose mother is trying to marry him off, she falls for him but cannot make any commitments. Camryn’s heart was damaged from being broken so many times in the past. The secondary romance in the story is about River and Dylan who were thrown together as the Snow Queen and King for all the upcoming holiday festivities. Both of them had huge trust issues to overcome. This would make a perfect Hallmark movie. All four characters were loving and charming people who had to overcome some obstacles to find their way to healing. The secondary characters were also very enjoyable, including cute little Tinsel. I enjoyed this book very much!!!

I loved “Home Sweet Christmas.” It was a classic Hallmark-style novel following the progression of two different relationships. Susan Mallery really knows how to write a meet-cute and show how every relationship takes a winding road. There were a couple of plot twists that were a little odd, and the ending kind of felt rushed given the amount of time spent on said plot twists, but overall, it was a really cute holiday rom-com.

Susan Mallery delivers another heartwarming romance set in the enchanting town of Wishing Tree. When Camryn Neff’s mother died, she moved to Wishing Tree, leaving her life in Chicago behind…for the time being. She is now the guardian of her teenage twin sisters.River Best was charmed by the quaint little town when she first visited her sister there. So charmed, she decided to stay.Camryn and River fall in love with the all-too-perfect men. (Hey, a girl can dream!) Jake Crane catches Camryn’s eye, and she can’t resist. But Camryn plans to move back to Chicago when the twins go to college. She can’t fall in love with someone in Wishing Tree. They begin a romance with an expiration date. For River, keeping secrets is a deal breaker, and her new love Dylan Tucker has a big secret. Of course, their romances can’t come to fruition without some angst thrown in. For all four lovers, this is a story of loss and healing.I really liked Jake’s mother. She does meddle in her son’s life, but sometimes it is needed. I had a few chuckles over her antics. And I fell in love with the little dog so adorably named Tinsel.A small town with warm and friendly residents filled with the Christmas spirit…well, don’t you think you need to visit Wishing Tree?Susan Mallery writes beautiful family-themed stories with happily-ever-after endings. Just what is needed for the holidays! You will enjoy this book if you enjoy novels with close-knit families, some romance, and humor.
Amy Paul –
I loved this book! Mallery weaves two romances, as best friends Dylan and Jake fall for friends Camryn and River. And of course, everyone has old hurts and trust issues (trust is a really big one in this book) to overcome but they learn that they have to do it together. They have to let go of the past and have a little faith in the now and the future. As is common for Mallery, this book shares the healing power of love and family and friends. (Though in all fairness, I do have to say that I was not a fan of Helen; I get that she did what she did out of love but I felt like she crossed the line more than once and I was a little disappointed that no one really called her on it.) But still, I love Wishing Tree and the people in it, and I can’t wait to go back and see them again.
