The HILARIOUS new novel and the year’s most perfect festive gift – from million-copy bestselling author David Baddiel
It used to be the most WONDERFUL time of the year, but for years Christmas has been taken over by Winterzone.
All the things that made Christmas special are gone: the human connection, the baubles passed down through generations, even the rubbish cracker jokes.
Instead, Christmas is run by robots, while 3D holograms of Santa Claus called Santavatars check if you’ve been naughty or nice – and on Christmas Eve, all of the presents are delivered by ZoneDrones instead of Santa’s reindeer!
But when they stumble on a curious clue, eleven-year-old Etta and her friend Monty find themselves thrown into a fight to bring back Christmas. Racing against time and against the might of Winterzone, they must find the real Santa – before the true meaning of the festive season is lost forever . . .
David Baddiel’s book ‘The God Desire’ was a Sunday Times bestseller w/c 17-04-2023.

Great book for teenagers
I got asked to buy this as a Christmas present for one of my cousins daughters. She had read other books by the author which she had enjoyed and wished to expand her collection. She was very happy with the book.

Great read for Christmas
I’m sure you could read this any time of the year but my son read it in a matter of days in the lead up to Christmas. A fun filled easy read great and not too long for more reluctant readers
Daz955i –
Boring, slow, badly written.
I always buy two Christmas books to read to my girls through December usually with great delight. This book is bad, both my girls disliked so much about it and were asking a lot of questions like “why does she call her parents by their Christian names”He tries too hard to be trendy and PC and it just becomes irritating. The storyline could have made for an epic book but instead it’s difficult to read, uninteresting and slow.Stay away and read Matt Haig’s “A boy called Christmas” instead.
