According to the latest information we have from Weibo, the Hasselblad X2D Mark II will become available from late August 2025. That’s a good thing if true, in our previous post, as we have already shown you the official leaked image of the X2D II camera alongside the major core specifications of the camera. Why did the FFCID’s leaked image of the Hasselblad X2D II become public before the announcement? As we mentioned in our previous post that when a camera maker registers a camera in the FCC ID, within 180 days, they have to make a public announcement. Since Hasselblad X2D II has already crossed the 180 days, and the company failed to announce their product in time, the details images unlocked at FCCID and become available to the public. Now we have the basic core specifications available to us alongside the images.
Pre-order and release timeline
But now we have some good information through Chinese sources aka weibo (although it’s not reliable since it’s coming from camera beta, but they have also shared some screen shot in the post so we have decided to publish), according to them, the pre-order of the Hasselblad X2D Mark II camera will become available late August 2025. They are very confirmed about Hasselblad X2D II availability in late August. So that’s a very interesting thing. Stay tuned once the camera appears in the B&H Store, we will post and update here.
Hasselblad X2D II Price
While the official pricing of the Hasselblad X2D Mark II is not yet confirmed, if we consider the speculations and pricing strategy of Hasselblad cameras, it will be priced somewhere $8500 to $9000 USD. And the big reason behind that — the Hasselblad X2D 100C is available at retail stores at roughly $8199, and we do have some advanced features inside the new camera which includes the DJI Lidar autofocus system and enhanced in-body image stabilization, so if you consider all these factors alongside with the new model introduction, then we will have some slight price increase over the existing X2D 100C.
Hasselblad X2D II Specifications
The X2D II anticipated specifications, corroborated by industry leaks and filings:
Feature | Details |
Sensor | 100-megapixel CMOS medium format sensor (43.8 x 32.9mm), 16-bit color depth |
Autofocus | DJI LiDAR autofocus system, with face detection and improved tracking speed |
Stabilization | 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) with 8 stops |
Dynamic Range | Approximately 15 stops, ideal for high-contrast scenes |
Storage | Built-in 1TB SSD, supports CFexpress Type B memory cards |
Color Technology | Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) for true-to-life tones |
Lens Compatibility | Compatible with XCD, HC, HCD, XPan, and V System lenses |
The Hasselblad X2D 100C lacks continuous autofocus and tracking. Through a firmware update, it has been planned, but let’s hope and expect the X2D Mark II camera will have these features built-in natively. Although there is no confirmation about the video core specification of the camera, which was expected earlier, we have to wait for the official announcement of the camera.
Some people may feel that this price tag which is somewhere around $8500 to $9000is very high and not feasible, but believe me, while I am writing this article, I have recently checked the B&H store page of the Hasselblad X2D 100C camera and it has been in the top selling cameras of B&H store. So Hasselblad has its fan base. And they will buy the camera despite the fact that cameras like GFX100S II have the same 102 MP sensor, alongside, they also offer video recording in 4k30p Flog2.
