A Handy Little Sharpener That Actually Works
I had been putting off sharpening my kitchen knives for ages until I bought this AnySharp. It is so simple to use. You stick it to a flat surface with the suction pad, then pull your knife through a couple of times and that is it, the blade is noticeably sharper. It is compact so it fits neatly in a drawer, and it is great value for money. If you are tired of struggling with dull blades, this little gadget actually works.

Compact, safe, and sharp—solid bit of kit that brings blunt blades back to life in seconds.
Simple but effective—this sharpener grips tight to the worktop with its suction base, so you can sharpen one-handed without chasing it around. Works on standard kitchen knives, including serrated edges (except fine-tooth ones), and gives a clean edge with just a few strokes.Compact enough to stash in a drawer, and the silver finish looks tidy on the counter. Ideal for home cooks, site kitchens, or anyone who’s tired of sawing through veg with a blunt blade. No faff, no setup—just press, twist, and done.Perfect for drivers, DIYers, or anyone who values gear that works fast and doesn’t take up space.Minor gripe: not suitable for ceramic knives or scissors—stick to steel blades only.👍 Pros✅ PowerGrip suction base—safe, hands-free use✅ Sharpens straight and serrated steel knives✅ Compact and easy to store✅ Quick results—just a few strokes needed✅ No setup or maintenance required👎 Cons❌ Not for ceramic blades or scissors❌ Can remove a bit more metal than finer sharpeners❌ Needs a clean, flat surface for suction to hold

The only thing it can’t sharpen is my son’s wit…
Full disclosure, I use a sharpening steel for my very best knives. It is excellent and I will continue to do so. However, my son was headed off to Uni and had bought himself a few knives to accompany him. He wasn’t going to invest the time in sharpening knives with a steel and so we purchased this. If I’m honest, I was sceptical. It’s a small, lightweight gadget which sticks to the kitchen worktop via suction (I can imagine some surfaces may be a problem – wood for example). Once secure, you drag your knife through being careful not to press too hard. It does require me to psychologically prepare myself as it feels a bit like nails on a chalkboard (shudder) but it’s a quick process. What’s good about it?Well, it’s compact, sticks really well to the kitchen worktop, is safe, cheap, quick, and easy to use. It also works on serrated edge knives, which I think is a bonus. I’ve tested it on everything – his cheap knives; my better ones (but not my best ones). It worked really well on all of them. What’s annoying about itNot a lot really. His flatmates keep borrowing it, which I suppose counts as a recommendation in itself. He’s home for the summer now and so it’s living happily in my kitchen. The only downside is it does take metal off your knives and so over time you are probably wearing them away. For me, that is the reason I wouldn’t use it for my best, expensive knives.Worth it?I think for something that actually works and doesn’t cost a lot of money it is worth it. For the price it does create a sharp blade which makes food prep so much easier. Would I use it on expensive knives – probably not. However, for going to Uni, to take camping, for setting up a first home etc., then I would definitely recommend.I have reviewed this after about six months of use and it is still producing good results and continues to stick to the countertop.

Suction base for extra safety
Sharpens blunt knives quickly and safely. It has a suction base which is easily used by bringing the lever forward and then back to release. This provides extra safety when sharpening knives.I’ve only used it 3 times so not sure how long it will last but so far so good

great item
This works really well, just a couple of swipes and the knife blade is as good as new.

A loose gadget that’s not stable.
I used this for the first time on Saturday, the same day I received it. It did a great job of sharpening my knives – from blunt to super sharp. Perfect! – but the suction was terrible. I put it on the kitchen counter, pulled down the handle, and it stuck, but as soon as I pulled the knife through the sharpener, the suction loosened, and it came off the counter. This happened the first time I used it, and every single time after. To sharpen each knife, I had to go slowly, because the suction was loose and it kept moving on the counter. This is a big failing. The promotional video and text make the suction a major selling point, but it doesn’t work. My counter was clean and dry, and there was nothing that would affect the suction, so it’s misleading to emphasise the strength of the suction when it is a big design flaw. It’s also dangerous because loose suction and a gadget that isn’t stable make it highly likely that I might cut myself while sharpening my knives.

Works well
It does what it claims and sharpens a dull knife with only a few strokes. Sticks to the work surface making it easy and affect sharpen the knife.I’ve only done a couple of knives but it’s much more effective than other sharpeners and steels I’ve tried. And the knife did cut a tomato really easily!

Good sharpener
The AnySharp is brilliantly clever for what it is. The suction base is powerful—it genuinely locks to the countertop and doesn’t budge, making the sharpening process safe and one-handed. It’s incredibly easy to use and puts a serviceable edge on dull kitchen knives in seconds. It brought my daily-use knives from frustratingly blunt to “will easily slice a tomato” sharp. However, it is quite abrasive. I wouldn’t use it on my expensive, high-end Japanese chef’s knife as it removes more metal than a precision whetstone. It’s a perfect tool for quickly maintaining standard European-style kitchen knives.Pros: Extremely easy and safe to use with its powerful suction base, quickly puts a functional edge on dull knives, very affordable.Cons: The abrasive mechanism can be harsh and remove more metal than finer sharpening methods. Not suitable for premium or specialty knives.

I sent this to my daughter after visiting her and noticed that all her cutting knives were very dull. She used it straight away and was amazed at how well it sharpened. I would recommend this product
